Broken Top, Three Sisters Wilderness, Oregon

Hiking and climbing opportunities are abundant in the Three Sisters Wilderness of central Oregon.  This photo was taken from a favorite climber’s camp at the foot of the Hayden Glacier on the east side of Middle Sister.  The camp offers views of all Three Sisters, Broken Top and Mt. Bachelor.  It’s a spectacular place to spend a few days peak bagging, exploring a glacier, photographing wild flowers or just relaxing in one of Oregon’s most scenic areas.   Climbing opportunities are best in early summer, however mosquitoes are also at their peak.  Early fall brings frosty mornings, crisp skies, fewer mosquitoes and fewer climbers.
